Can I cover a cake with fondant without first covering with buttercream?
I have begun to make fondant cakes and when I cover cake with fondant, buttercream always seems to ooze out from bottoms. So can I completely skip the buttercream or is it necessary? I do let the buttercream completely set. I usually leave it for 2 days before I cover it, that doesn’t seem to work. Or do I need to make buttercream thicker?
The butter cream layer that goes under the fondant is put on thin, it is meant to be a crumb coat. In other words, to contain the crumbs[bind them up in frosting] so top layers of frosting do not have crumbs. Buddy on Cake Boss calls this dirty frosting. For fondant, it is supposed to make a smooth surface, and I would guess help glue the fondant to the cake. So we are not supposed to glop it on, Use just enough to catch all the crumbs. It is not a fancy frosted cake, just the layer to prep for the fondant.
If it is oozing out, you might have too much on the cake, you might be putting too much at the bottom of the cake, and it might be too thin/soft, consistency wise. and You just need it just soft/thin enough to spread.
Have you seen Cake Boss or Ace of Cakes on cable/dish? Great shows, and both show the bakers and decorators doing their craft step by step.
You should not have to leave it set. That leads me to believe your frosting is too consistency wise thin, or put on toothick and gloppy.
and chill the cake before you put on the buttercream crumb coat.
What is the best glue to repair a toilet tank cover broken in half?
Super glue doesn’t work well on ceramic.
where do i get epoxy?
Two part epoxy as the others said. Gorilla glue may be advertised as water proof, but in the times I have used it, it has not held up well at all, the epoxy is almost a 100% guarantee to work and hold up.
Any Walmart and most other variety stores will have it. It is easy to use, just follow the directions and use a throw away mixing surface and try to not get it on your hands, etc. We glued the head back on a concrete turtle and it has been outside in all types of weather for two and a half years and the head is still on the turtle. Good luck.

Can an umbrella policy cover me as a sole proprieter?
I don’t want to form an LLC because I don’t want to keep this self-employment thing going for more than 2 years.
I work on small business websites. I have access to passwords, Cybersource accounts etc. If there were a problem and a client sued me, right now I’d be in trouble. Can I get a simple umbrella policy to cover me? Clearly I haven’t a clue so any help is appreciated…. (I’d prefer not to spend $300 an hour to talk to a business attorney. I only bring in about $1000 a month!)
Argh. I cannot wait to get back to working for a real company! Where the heck do I get business insurance? Any suggestions?
You should have a businessowner’s policy (BOP) and an umbrella to really protect yourself. As a small firm, both policies combined shouldn’t be more than $1,000. You may also want to get professional liability (E&O) in case someone sues you for negligence with regards to your work, that’s not covered on the basic policy.

I have a 3month old, is it worth buying a grocery cart cover for him? Is it easy to use or a pain in the butt? I am low maintenance.
I really wanted one of those but I never could ration spending the money on one. My daughter is 11 months old now and we have always just put her in the cart and she is just getting over her first sinus infection ever (which my 4 year old brought home from school). While I think they’re useful, I think you could probably throw a pack of disinfectant wipes in your diaper bag and just wipe down the seat and handles before you put your son in the cart and it would be cheaper and probably easier.
